Working and Playing with HP #PintheHalls

I recently told you about the awesome opportunity we had to participate in the #PintheHalls Program over the holidays from HP and Snapfish. I shared some of the projects we made using HP's Creative Studio in a previous post but now that we have had some time to really use the HP ENVY TouchSmart Ultrabook x4 and the HP Portable Bluetooth Speaker I wanted to share some more of our personal experiences with you.

Why are we are loving the HP ENVY TouchSmart Ultrabook x4? The touch screen is so easy to use. It's been a wonderful addition to both our work and play. Not only can the Lil Divas use Fresh Paint to doodle, color and draw but it's been a great tool to use to practice writing, review spelling and sight words and even work on math facts. 

Both of the Lil Divas have really enjoyed using the Kindle application as well. They get in lots of extra reading time lately simply because it's in a different format and I am loving it. 

 Why is the HP Portable Bluetooth Speaker such a hit? That can be explained in 2 words - Dance Parties! There is nothing the Lil Divas enjoy more than putting on a dance show. The speaker can be taken anywhere and be connected with any bluetooth enabled products so it's so easy to use. Our house has been party central lately and it's just so fun to see the Lil Divas get down and get moving, act silly and just have a good time.

I've been able to capture so many wonderful moments lately. To be honest, 2012 was an amazing year for us. I can't wait to make a Snapfish Photo Book so we can enjoy a visual of all the memories forever. Things have been so busy lately, I haven't been able to sit down and make it but I am excited about finally finding some time to sit and make our 2012 memories book.

DIY Holiday Photo Crafts & Decor - #PintheHalls

If you are a regular here, you know we love to get crafty. The Lil Divas regularly get crafty all on their own as there is always a ready supply of paper, tape, scissors, glue etc within their reach. They love to draw, create books, make paper dolls, build doll houses and write stories with elaborate illustrations.

We really enjoy making our own holiday ornaments and decorations during the Christmas season. With each passing year our tree is slowly being overtaken by homemade ornaments versus those have been store bought. It is wonderful. Our Christmas tree is filled with not only ornaments but many wonderful memories of moments spent creating them together.

I mentioned in a previous post that this year we are participating in the Pin the Halls program sponsored by HP and Snapfish. I am beyond excited to be participating in this program as it has gifted us with some amazing products like the HP ENVY TouchSmart Ultrabook x4 that has allowed us to easily keep in touch with friends and family and create some fabulous holiday decorations using HP's Creative Studio.

The Lil Divas love using Fresh Paint. They have created countless holiday themed drawings that we turned into cards and gift tags for relatives and friends. The touch screen makes it so easy to paint and draw right on the screen.

I was able to make some fun photo creations using HP's Creative Studio . It is so easy to use and there are many fun and creative projects to choose from. My favorite was the snowflake photo ornament. I printed a bunch of different photo snowflakes and tied them together to create a garland which I used to decorate our long banister leading to the second floor. 

I even used a few of them as gift tags on presents for family. They turned out so cute. I can't wait for everyone to see them. 

The HP Creative Studio has tons of great printables including postcards, ornaments, photo cubes, mini books, photo collage frame templates and more. This is something I will be making lots of use of in the future.

Christmas has always been a huge deal for me. Growing up my family really made the holidays special, festive and family oriented. As an adult, I have such wonderful memories of the holidays and I want the same for the Lil Divas. I am always trying to find ways to make the holiday season fun for them through crafts and activities that we can do together.

We received an HP ENVY TouchSmart Ultrabook x4 with Windows 8 PC. I am really impressed with all it's features and capabilities, especially that it's a touchscreen. How awesome is that? The Lil Divas love being able to tap things right on the screen. They have already started trying to take over the ultrabook since it's so user friendly and comes with features they love like Beats Audio to listen to all their favorite tunes and the HP TrueVision HD Cam to chat with our many faraway relatives.  It's so nice to be able to connect with the family and friends we don't get to see often, especially during this time of year. I really wanted to take the girls up north to visit my family this year during the holidays but we simply couldn't make it happen. I am beyond grateful for technology like this that let's us see each other while we chat. It definitely makes the distance between us seem smaller when we can talk face to face, even if only via our computer screens. How do you keep in touch with distant family and friends?

I'm excited about using our new ultra book to explore all the things I can create with the HP Holiday Value Pack we received. I have been exploring the HP Creative Studio and can't wait to start getting crafty. Every year I gift the grandparents some awesome photo gifts because what grandparents doesn't love gifts bearing the likeness of their favorite grandkids, right?! Seriously, it has become a tradition and  they love it. I love making photo calendars for the gift that keeps giving all year long but I spied lots of fun DIY photo gifts that I want to try out. I'll be sharing what we create in an upcoming post so stay tuned. I even created a Pinterest board dedicated to fun Holiday Gift Ideas.

Does your family love music? We sure do. The Lil Divas love to sing and dance above all things and it's truly the perfect time of year to crank up the volume on our favorite holiday tunes. We love to get our "Christmas Carol" on (yes, I do fully realize that is not an actual thing but you know that you know exactly what I mean, hehe). Nothing beats cranking up the volume on our favorite Holiday Pop songs on our new wireless HP Portable Bluetooth Speaker while we dance and sing along to the top of our lungs. Wouldn't you like to be a fly on our wall during our daily performances? It will be wonderful to be able to stream holiday music or even movies through the slim & sleek speaker during our holiday get togethers without drawing a lot of unnecessary attention to the speaker. The Lil Divas love using the speaker to play the music from their iPod. We have had lots of "extra" performances from them lately.
