No truer words can ever be spoken in regards to parenthood.
The past 7 years have flown by as this adorable and tiny baby girl.....

has grown into this lovely little lady.

You are intelligent and curious,
kind hearted and loving,
playful, energetic and full of life.

I am blessed to be your mother.

Happy 7th Birthday my Darling Daughter.

Kid Craft: Recycled Robot!

Today, I have a quick little craft courtesy of my 6 year old.

The Oldest Diva had to come up with a recycled art project for school.
After a few idea changes, she settled on a robot.

Of course it wasn't just any robot,
it had to be a life sized robot!

That's my girl!

She brainstormed what she wanted it to look like -
she had a very specific artistic vision from the beginning.

It was my job to commander the pieces she needed.

We gathered our supplies:
cardboard boxes
cereal boxes
bottle caps
paper towel rolls
silver paint
hot glue

& called upon friends and family to save their trash.

Then, the Oldest Diva got to work
(with a bit of painting help from her little sister).

I helped with the hot gluing
& I have my fingers crossed it stays together!

The completed robot is adorable.

He looks so happy!

The Oldest Diva is super excited to take her robot into school.

She is so proud of her creation that she requested
her robot have a place on the blog.

This mama is more than happy to oblige.
Didn't she do a fabulous job?

Great robot book for kids:

Wordless Wednesday Linky: A Toothless Grin! (11/23/11)

This past weekend the Oldest Diva lost her 2nd tooth.

They grow way too quickly!
Can someone tell me how to stop it?
Anyone?

My baby girl is fast becoming a big girl.
There is no denying it,
& apparently there's no stopping it -
no matter how much I'd like to try.

Before I share the linky I want to wish all my fabulous
a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Wordless Wednesday {w/linky} 10/12 - Kinder Fun: Publix Field Trip

Last week the Oldest Diva had her 1st official school field trip!

It was to our local Publix Supermarket &
it was by far a better experience than I had imagined it would be.

The kids visited the different departments,
learning about them along the way.

They showed us some cake decorating basics in the bakery.
The kids got to keep the cake!

The class learned how they slice the pineapples for sale in the Produce Department. They gave the kids yummy fruit bowls.

We got a tour of the stock room,

and saw how they crush their big boxes!

The kids even got to touch a live lobster,

and learned about fish and crabs in the Seafood Department.

To end the morning each child got a goody bag aside from the popcorn, cake, cookies and fruit given during the trip to take back with us.

The kids enjoyed a feast in the classroom after the field trip. I had no idea what a field trip to our local supermarket would entail  and I was pleasantly surprised by everything that our local Publix store did for the kids!

Pony Palooza Club - A Young Horse Lover's Dream Come True

My horse loving Lil Diva has been part of a wonderful local program for kids called Pony Palooza Club.

What is Pony Palooza Club?
The program introduces young children to horses by providing them with hands-on experiences with real horses. They are taught basic horse care and become more knowledgable about horses while becoming comfortable and familiar with horses in general.

About the Program:
The program is geared for boys and girls ages 4 to 10. It runs once a week for 1.5 hrs. and includes an art/craft activity and a healthy snack. The program is run by the wonderful Jodi Schlinkmann and is housed in a premier local riding facility - Pine Hollow.

Our Thoughts & Personal Experience:
Each week the horse loving kids explored a new theme which also had a built in craft activity related to horses. The Oldest Diva was so proud of all her finished products. She even got to paint on a horse - a highlight of her young horse loving life!

The Oldest Diva started the program with both a love for and a fear of horses. She was afreaid to get too close and certainly would not feed the horses any carrots on her own. Within a few weeks, she knew all the horses by name and by far, her favorite part of the program became the hands-on interaction with the horses! She loved visiting her favorite horses & ponies and feeding them carrots at the end of each session.

I was so happy with how comfortable she became around the horses and how much she learned about them and their care in general. The experience was very hands-on, making it both memorable, enjoyable and a great way to learn while having fun. The Oldest Diva washed horses, groomed them, learned about their food, saddles, horse shoes and even how to care for their teeth.

It was an amazing program and something every young horse lover would enjoy being part of. If you live in the area and have a horse crazy kid - you must check out Pony Palooza Club.

Visit Pony Palooza at Pine Hollow's Facebook Page for more information on upcoming sessions.

Wordless Wednesday 8/17 {w/Linky}: Our 1st Visit from The Tooth Fairy

Last Friday (8/12) my Oldest Diva (5 1/2 yrs old) lost her 1st Tooth!

Here she is proudly showing off her lost tooth!
BTW, yes that is another tooth you see coming in already!
We actually had to pull the tooth out - the new one is growing in the back :(

The tooth that would NOT come out!

She wanted to write a note to the tooth fairy.
It was so cute how hard she worked on it
& she thought it up & wrote it entirely on her own -
I just helped her spell the words.

In case you can't see her note says:

To Tooth Fairy,
I Love You.
You are my only Tooth Fairy.
What do you look like?
Please enjoy my tooth.

In return her Tooth Fairy (whose name is Flossie)
left her a certificate, a gold coin & a note.

The note said:

Thank you for your wonderful note. I love you too.
I was so excited to be chosen to be your tooth fairy and
come to get your first tooth. It is a wonderful healthy tooth.
Thank you for taking such good care of it. I will be back
the next time you lose a tooth but until then please
keep up the good work! Remember to brudh and please
don't eat too much candy! We need your healthy teeth.

Love,
Flossie
Your Tooth Fairy

She was so happy & proud the next morning!

It was a fabulous 1st visit from the Tooth Fairy!

Can't wait to see what you are sharing this week!
