The Lil Divas and I went to see Disney On Ice - Let's Celebrate this weekend and what a wonderful show it was! I honestly have to say it is my favorite show to date and we have seen many of the Ice Shows over the years, even before I had my Lil Divas :)
The show featured so many of our favorite Disney Characters in celebrations of holidays and festivals throughout the world and over the course of the year that the Lil Divas (along with me & everyone in attendance) were going wild!
The Opening Number had so many characters it was spectacular and it really set the mood for the Celebrations to come during the show.
We celebrated an un-birthday party with Alice in Wonderland & the Mad Hatter
As Mickey was cleaning up from the party mess he found a sorcerer's hat & robe which gave way to a great Fantasia dancing broom number
That was followed by a Spooky Halloween hosted by Jack (Nightmare Before Christmas) and featuring some popular Disney Villains like Captain Hook, The Witch from Snow White, Cruella de Vil, Jafar (Aladdin) and Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty)
Then came a Royal Ball Valentine's Day celebration with Minnie and the Fairy Godmother and many of the Princesses (much to my lil Diva's dismay Sleeping Beauty was absent from the show)
Of course there had to be some luau fun with Lilo & Stitch
There was a trip to China where Minnie danced a beautiful fan dance
and Mickey danced with Mulan and Shang
Then they headed over to New Orleans for some Mardi Gras fun with Tiana and Naveen
Finally, there was a Christmas celebration with the toys of Toy Story
and a spectacular Grand Finale where we got to see everyone one last time!
This is a wonderful video I found on You Tube with some great highlights of the amazing show!
If Let's Celebrate is playing near you - don't miss it! It was an amazing show with so many of our beloved characters - any Disney fan will absolutely love it!

Rainbow Theme - Colors Mini Book
Book:
White Rabbit's Color Book by Alan Baker
Color Mini Books
After reading the book we made our own color books. These were the first mini books we have made in a long time and the 1st where the Lil Divas did all the writing & illustrations on their own. They were so proud and it was so simple - I cut up 2 pieces of white paper into 4 equal parts for each book and stapled them.
We made a cover page and then dedicated 1 page of the book to each color of the rainbow. The Lil Divas thought of something to illustrate for each color.
Here are our books:
Cover with title "My Color Book" and 1st page for Red with a drawing of a red rose - the other Lil Diva made a heart
Color Word Match
I made a color word matching game that I am using with the Lil Divas and thought I'd share. I did not get pictures but it's a basic card with the color and then a matching card with the color word. It is to help them recognize the color words.
I made all the basic colors but we have just been working on the colors of the rainbow this week.
I also made cards with the color word printed on the color card for younger children just starting out. It would be a great way to introduce what the color words look like and they could still match based on recognizing the letters on each card.

4th page Green with drawing of grass and 5th page Blue with drawing of sky. They both made the same thing for the last few pages.
I forgot to take a picture of the last page for purple but they both drew grapes.

Play-Doh Rainbow Fun
This was great motor skills exercise too because it involved lots of rolling of the play-doh
Of course we had to add white clouds too
These were simple and fun to do & then we enjoyed some free play with the play-doh

Desperately Seeking.......... Mother's Day SPONSORS
I would love to host a Mother's Day Event here at Mom to 2 Posh Lil Divas dedicated to pampering us Mom's!
I am looking for sponsors to donate products for review and giveaway that either pamper or make life easier for Mom's in some way. Think bath & body, candles, scents, books, organization, decor, etc... Anything that would make a woman feel special and pampered or would just seriously add beauty and/or ease to her day to day.
The possibilities are endless, so if you have a product & would like to participate - contact me right away! Etsy stores, handmade crafts or art work, book authors and publishers & companies/businesses are all welcome! The bigger we can make this the better for everyone involved.
The event will run for 1 week from April 24th thru May 1st (in anticipation of Mother's Day on 5/8!)
I will do Sponsor Highlights before the event as sponsors roll in so you will get exposure before and during the event!
Let's get this going & bring attention to your product or business & do some serious Mom spoiling! We all deserve it! :)
Don't forget to grab my event button in the sidebar & stay tuned for more details!

Upper Case Letter templates - I just used various colored craft foam & cut the pieces out according to the template
Rainbow Crayons

(Idea came from teaching-tiny-tots.com)
I recently found a bag full of crayons & crayon pieces from when I was actually teaching in the classroom! I hate to throw them away so I saved them & was so glad I did because we got to use them for this fun craft to make rainbow crayons!
I used a Wilton Hearts Shaped Candy Mold Tray (it's what I had) and the Lil Divas sorted our crayon pieces according to color. We then peeled off the wrappers (this took awhile & they got a bit antsy so if you have younger kids you may want to spend some time before hand doing this yourself)
Then we snapped them into smaller pieces and mixed up lights and darks of each color (red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple) into the mold (2 for each color)
Put them to bake in the oven at 200 degrees for about 10mins - they just need to melt so the colors mix. It probably could have been less time but the Lil Divas weren't letting me get a good peek (see pic below, lol!)
Here's what ours looked like right out of the oven. You must allow ample time for them to cool and harden again so they easily come out of the mold and keep their shape. I had a few casualties along the way becasue the lil Divas were dying to see the end result so I rushed things & they were not ready to come out - lesson learned!
I put the tray in the fridge and it sped things up nicely & they popped right out since they were nice and cool!
Our finished products & they actually work! The girls drew pictures with them but I forgot to take pics!
Happy Melting,
Bern

Rainbow Theme - Rainbow Fun w/ Food
Pin It
Add cotton ball clouds for a cute finishing touch
Activity # 2 - Rainbow Bracelets
I gave each Lil Diva a white pipe cleaner and told them to add the froot loops in rainbow order
*be sure to measure for appropriate length around wrist & leave room to twist it closed!*
They loved their rainbow bracelets & of course they did not last very long due to nibbling! :)

Enjoy,
Bern

We used the following:
strawberries
tangarine oranges
pineapple chunks
green grapes
bluberries
purple greapes
whipped cream - clouds
Froot Loop Fun
What You Need:
box of Froot Loops (or comparable) cereal
glue
cotton balls
white background paper

Activity #1 Froot Loops Rainbows
What To Do:
The Lil Divas then glued on the froot loops following the order of the rainbow. I did not make additional lines - I just told them to glue the next color right under the last & it worked very well!
