Family Fun Friday - Young at Art Children's Museum (Davie, FL)

We LOVE children's museums! They are such wonderful hands-on places for children to explore, create and learn from. We are lucky to have some great places near us and I try to take the girls as often as I can.

Last week the hubby and I took the Lil Divas + my niece to Young at Art Children's Museum in Davie, FL. What the Lil Divas & I enjoy most about this particular children's museum is all the opportunities they provide to explore various forms/mediums of art. It was a fun filled day for all three girls who are 3, 4 & 5 yrs old!

The girls started off with the EarthWorks exhibit - they LOVE the landfill slide, magnetic wall, light table and musical alleyway.

Then they moved on to the Global Village where there is so much to see, craft and do!  The Lil Divas tried their hand at Japanese writing with water , played on the African Drums and enjoyed a Mayan Archaeological dig.

Another favorite exhibit is Kenny's Closet (artist Kenny Scharf). There is a cool psychedelic day-glo black light room. It is hard to take pics in there but believe me it is an experience! Then right outside the room is a art area which the girls always spend lots of time in.

There was also a fun Jim Henson inspired exhibit with lots of Sesame Street fun.  One area was set up where kids could use all sorts of recyclables to create puppets - it was great to see what the Lil Divas came up with.

Do you have a local Art inspired Children's Museum? I'd love to hear about it?

PS - I must mention that we used a fab 2-for-1 Groupon deal for our visit! I LOVE Groupon deals to places we frequent! What a $$$$ saver!
