Barnes & Noble Online StoryTime Presents Pinkalicious

Barnes and Noble has a great Online Storytime where popular stories are read out loud with illustrations!

This month the story is Pinkalicious (<--- click!) and it's read by the author Vistoria Kann with illustrations from the book!

My Lil Divas LOVE Pinkalicious (as well as the other stories in the series) so I thought I'd share this wonderful FREE find with you all! Also remember that B&N is having Pinkalicious books on sale right now & if you scored the recent Groupon deal that means some HUGE Savings - Yeah! :)

**This is not a sponsored post - just me sharing something GREAT with you! :) **

Why? Quite simply, I LOVE books and reading & I truly enjoy the time I spend reading with my Lil Divas each day. As a mom and an educator I know the importance and benefits of reading to children.

Think of the developing language skills, the introduction to new and exciting concepts, places, people, etc. We make excellent use of our local Public Library and always have new books to read and old favorites to re-read! We do not lack books at home either - in my opinion it's a good investment to purchase copies of our favorites. I think it's important for children to be around books, that exposure stimulates them.

The development of literacy starts early and early experiences with books and being read to does help children learn to read. Spending time reading with your child does make a difference & it's so important!

Programs like this excite me because it makes books and reading fun! I know not all parents have as much time to read to their kids as I do - which is why I think this program is so awesome and definitely worth sharing!

This reading is just a lil over 6 minutes long - you can play it while making dinner , breakfast , etc and your child would be read to even if it's not by you! How awesome is that? :)

If you have boys & Pink isn't for your household - don't FRET!

Here is the link to their  Online Story Time Archive. <----click here!

They have several great reads available that were shared in previous months.

List of books currently available:
Strega Nona
The Polar Express
The Mitten
Where the Wild Things Are
Olivia
Alexandar and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very bad Day
Smash! Crash!
Fancy Nancy: Bonjour Butterfly

Don't forget to check back each month for the new story - it's free and fun! :)

Do you read to your children daily?

Do you take time to read yourself?

I couldn't live without my books! It's my ME time, my mini "mind vacation/escape" on a daily basis! This Mama needs her books!

Hope You Enjoy!

  4. Oh, I used to love reading to Amy (my daughter). She would sit up in bed and really concentrate on what I was telling her. She's 11 now and I don't get to read to her anymore (apart from one occasion recently).
