Confessions of a Lil Diva Mom - #1

Confession Time:

Here is a picture of my dishwasher:

No, it did not just finish running.

Actually.....I never use it!

I always wash my dishes by hand.
Yet..... it is always FULL!!

I use it as a drying rack and never, ever empty it!

It seems like the items that are in there are ones I use constantly throughout the day so I find it pointless to put them away in my cabinets when I know I am just going to use them again!

Does that make sense to anyone besides me?

Does anyone else do this?

Please tell me I am not alone!

  1. I've heard of others who do this also, so I'm sure you are not alone :-) Our poor dishwasher gets used so much I'm expecting it to explode at any point from sheer overwork!

  3. My sister washes her dishes by hand and uses the dishwasher as a drying rack. Only because hers is broken though! I couldn't live without my dishwasher! :0) Following you back!

  6. I am sure you aren't the only one, but this is a first to me. My Mom washes all her dishes before putting them in the dishwasher that cleans them again! I on the other hand couldn't live without mine! Is yours broken or would you rather just wash by hand? Have a great weekend! Take care, Andrea (mollyandluke.blogspot.com)

  7. I understand you but it is not something I do.

I have recently had a dishwasher and am still at the stage where I feel guilty for having such an extravagance.

    Plus points,
I love not having a drainer full of drying dishes,
I can put washing up straight into the washer and kitchen looks tidier
I can put the washer on whilst I put the youngest to bed
I must be saving water only having machine on once a day rather than handwashing 5-6 times a day.

Can u tell I still am not convinced?

  9. For a long time I hated emptying the dishwasher, so it does make total sense! Now I have transferred that loathing to matching socks out of the dryer. Ugh.

  10. It makes sense...I don't own a dishwasher, but I do tend to keep the dishes I usually use clean on my dish rack...Then there are nights I do put them away, depending on mood. I'm your new follower.
